MBMC: Newsletter No 8 - April 2021

Last May, Altaya presented its new rally auxiliary vehicle press-collection in 1/43rd scale, which was then launched in the Fall of the year. Now, the latest one of these support vehicles has been released: a Mercedes-Benz “Vario” 609D panel van, made between 1986 and 1996, here as used by the Subaru-team.

In the Newspaper and press-outlets in France, this model, made by IXO for Altaya, is available for 17 Euros. On eBay – if you find it – you may have to pay up to 45 Euros (+ shipping).

RCM (Rare Car Models) from Russia, presents the 1:43 scale model of the Benz 28/30 hp cardan car (ie. with universal drive), built between 1905 and 1908. Exactly 20 pieces of the model in the open roof version were produced, at the price of 14,900 rubles, i.e. 164.20 € or USD 195, plus shipping costs.

In my opinion, very soon we should be offered a version with closed roof.

The model can be ordered directly from Model Cars Heritage in Saint-Petersburg:

At this point, I would like to clarify that all my converted prices use the official exchange rate of the respective national currencies (whether in rubles, USD, euros, or whatever currency), which was valid on the day of writing the respective “Newsletter”-articles. Unfortunately, in no country is this the exchange rate that the individual customer, or the bank customer receives. All banks use an average exchange rate that is 2.5% to 5% "worse" for the customer.  Thus, you may probably have to pay a little bit more than what I’m writing…

For large customers, of course, it is always a little different....
