The worst tragedy in the history of motorsport.

On June 11, 1955, at 6.26 pm, the worst tragedy in the history of motorsport occurred. At the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race, at the end of lap 35, he crashed into the grandstand of a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR at full speed, driven by a French racer Pierre Levegh. The car was blown to pieces, its engine and other parts flew right into the fans, and as a result of this accident 82 people and the driver were killed.
