This magnificent Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL (W 109 series) Landaulet was presented to Pope Paul VI in 1966. The pontiff rarely used a car, preferring the more representative Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Landaulet.

Drew attention to this cars and chose it as his main vehicle, elected by the Pope in 1978, Pope John Paul II.

After the assassination attempt on the pontiff in St. Peter's Square, the car was fully armored.

Currently, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL Landaulet is on display at the Vatican Museum.
