In 1969 appeared the last modification of the w111, but the style of these cars have already started to become outdated. The Mercedes has partially slowed the fall in sales, setting a coupe and convertible, eight-cylinder V-twin engine with a displacement of 3.5 liters. The maximum speed reached 210 km/h, and the first hundred were overcome by heavy machine 9.5 seconds. In order to effectively hold the heavier engine, the car was supplied with enhanced suspension and additional structural elements of the body in the engine compartment. Increased demand for the inflow of air met the extended radiator grille and the safety is enhanced through the use of extended bumpers with rubber pads.
